The Giant Lanterns of China, Edinburgh Zoo

Chinese Lanterns in Edinburgh. Myths & legends

“Me fellow travellers, good evening. Welcome to a magical land, a world of myths and legends, of adventure and fantasy.”

We’re about to meet fantastic creatures and learn some whimsical stories straight out of a different realm. Are you ready to go with me?

The Giant Lanterns of China is a regular display in Edibnurgh Zoo, taking place every winter (from the middle of November till the middle of February). There are over 400 lanterns, lighting a magical trail through the Zoo. I was lucky to take part in the event this week and it was more amazing than I expected!

Coming back to the blog & setting intentions for 2019!

“New year — a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours.”

Alex Morritt

Oh, hello there! Long time no see 😅 Sorry about that, I’ve kind of lost inspiration for a while and wasn’t sure, what to write about here. You see, I had so many ideas for that blog, but all of them seemed to be random and unfocused somehow. Besides, let’s be honest here, I was totally unorganised and simply could not find enough time for writing, even though I actually have a lot of free time…

Beltane Fire Festival, Edinburgh

Beltane Fire Festival in Edinburgh!

“As darkness falls and the fire torches are lit, our drums will thunder and the May Queen will awaken.”

From the description of Beltane Fire Festival 2018

Come with me to the ancient times, to celebrate the festive of light and fire, nature and life!

We’ll go along with the May Queen, to meet all the strangest creatures from myths and legends. We’ll see the Green Man being reborn and then we’ll dance around Beltane bonfire, joyfully celebrating the coming of Summer!

Ediburgh, Calton Hill

Hello from Neverland!

“You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll be waiting.”

J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

It’s always hard to start, isn’t it? To choose the right words for the beginning. But let’s try anyway!

It all started with Instagram

As I really love writing and I miss it a lot, I’ve been thinking about starting a blog from quite a long time. But it always seemed to be not-a-very-good idea, since “the golden era” of blogs is definietely behind us. I’m always a bit late, I tend to begin something, when others end it. Let’s call it rebel, can we? It always sounds better 😀
