A villain is just a victim, whose story hasn’t been told…
In a far away land, long ago, lived a fairy who was cruelly hurt.
Her wings – the most important thing determined her being – were taken from her. Without her true self, the only thing remained was to turn against her torturer to make him suffer as much as she did. But one day she met this little princess and suddenly everything changed…
Do you prefer that story over original? For me it’s definietely more real that way, especially that Disney villains often don’t get their story – not in the way they should, anyway.
Inspired by Maleficent movie and in cooperation with Frustra Fotographie (one of my favourite photographers in Poland), I created my own version of the Black Fairy. My Maleficent is even darker in some ways, but I hope you like the results! Please, share your thoughts in comments below 🙂

All quotes used below are from Maleficent movie.
“I shall bestow a gift on the child.”
“I hate you, beasty…”
“I had wings once. They were strong… But they were stolen from me.”
“So you see, the story is not quite as you were told. In the end, the kingdom was united not by a hero or a villain, as legend had predicted, but by one who was both hero and villain. And her name was Maleficent.”
