“What a strange thing! To be alive
beneath cherry blossoms.”
There are several days every year, when Edinburgh turns into a pink fairytale.
All thanks to Sakura trees, blooming in many places in the city. You can hide in their shadow, waiting for a bus at the main street. You can look for them in some hidden corners of different disctricts or go for an enchanting walk along cherry alleys at the Meadows.
The last one is my personal favourite. I remember the first time I saw that wonderful place last year (probably in April or even the end of March? I’m not sure, all I know is they were blooming earlier then). It was like a dream: long paths surrounded on both sides by tall, a bit twisted trees, covered entirely with gentle pink blossoms. It was really amazing view, I was looking forward to see it this year. And I became enchanted once again, of course 🙂
If you’re thinking about visiting Edinburgh, I highly recommend choosing the season of cherry blossoms. Pictures below don’t do it justice, but I hope you like them anyway!
Which blossoms are your favourite? Are there any Sakura trees in your area? Let me know in comments!
