Cherry blossoms fairytale in Edinburgh

“What a strange thing! To be alive
beneath cherry blossoms.”

Kobayashi Issa, Poems

There are several days every year, when Edinburgh turns into a pink fairytale.

All thanks to Sakura trees, blooming in many places in the city. You can hide in their shadow, waiting for a bus at the main street. You can look for them in some hidden corners of different disctricts or go for an enchanting walk along cherry alleys at the Meadows.

About keeping your inner child alive

… or how to never grow up!

This post is closely related with my 30th birthday and some thoughts, which have been with me that day. It was almost 3 months ago, but I’ve decided to prepare it anyway because of one important reason: this blog was supposed to be some kind of my own birthday gift to myself. I started to think about it in Decemeber, then in January I asked about that idea on Instagram. And then I just thought: now or never!

Winer in Meadows, Edinburgh

Winter has come to Ediburgh!

“A cold wind was blowing from the north, and it made the trees rustle like living things.”

George R. R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

Spring? What spring? It’s time for second winter!

When I am writing these words, snow is already melting behind the window and all I can hear is the rain, silently tapping on the window sill. But only 5 days ago we had really strong blizard here, which lasted almost 3 days! If I lived in a castle, I could totally feel like in Winterfell 😉

Snowdrops

Magical walk in search of snowdrops

A short photo story about some nice discoveries

25 February was almost like the first day of spring to me, although not long after that winter has come again to Scotland (more about that here). That day I decided to go for a walk in search of snowdrops and had really magical time, wandering along Water of Leith.

Ediburgh, Calton Hill

Hello from Neverland!

“You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll be waiting.”

J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

It’s always hard to start, isn’t it? To choose the right words for the beginning. But let’s try anyway!

It all started with Instagram

As I really love writing and I miss it a lot, I’ve been thinking about starting a blog from quite a long time. But it always seemed to be not-a-very-good idea, since “the golden era” of blogs is definietely behind us. I’m always a bit late, I tend to begin something, when others end it. Let’s call it rebel, can we? It always sounds better 😀
